Howdy! Hope you’re doing good and have the peace of mind that only comes only when close to Jesus. I watched a documentary last night of prisoners in a low security place for white collar crimes. They had a lot of thinking problems. I thought……can’t imagine being there without having a close relationship with God.
I’ve been reading novels lately by a guy name Peter May, the Lewis Trilogy, about the Lewis Islands off Scotland. He’s a great story teller. Alistair Begg suggested them. They are hard to put down once you start. Stories of folks who don’t know God. Sad but riveting.
Regarding when you are released from prison, should that happen, God willing, you will need a significant answer to prayer since jobs are hard to come by no matter how hard you are willing to work. Even that TV show last night confirmed the difficulty once one is released into the general population, the difficulty finding employment. This is where you will need to have a seriously close walk with the Lord the hour you walk out the prison gates. Only footsteps guided by the Holy Spirit of God will lead you to where you find all that you will require on the outside. It will be exciting if you do that. If you walk out of the prison in the flesh, though a believer, good luck. Success might be reached but will be very disappointing.
I’ve learned that without a commitment to Him daily, off track is the train we are on. It doesn’t take much to derail us. I’m a high maintenance Christian. Without service to my inner spirit each morning, my battery goes dead, the oil gums up the pistons, and the spark plugs don’t fire. So I get recharged, oil changed, and new plugs daily. Then out the door to see where the Holy Spirit takes me, knowing I’m in top shape, powerful and full of God’s Spirit to accomplish His will wherever He engineers me to be and ready to proclaim His Truth to any He engineers to cross my path.
All the other stuff in life is less important and quite frankly not as enjoyable to me. Not that I don’t enjoy all the other stuff. It’s just not as fulfilling and the joy of it doesn’t linger like being used by the hand of God in situations that He creates in my path. So I guess I’m saying that the more we realize His hand, every hour of every day, the less all else matters. It’s like the song lyric “Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus, look full in His wonderful face and the things of earth will grow strangely dim in the light of His glory and grace.” Glory be to God for giving someone that song lyric.
Anyway, be encouraged realizing at all times, Jesus is King of the Universe! BTW, a friend sent me some photos of me on the golf course that I enclosed.
